What?

An attempt to catalog the journey into the bowels of YouTube and beyond to find foreign musical hidden gems and ear worms. No English allowed (in the music)!

Why?

The initial idea was derived from three things:

Not being able to discover new music on any service that didn’t include the word f**k, other profanities or lyrics involving lurid, offensive or condescending language.
A basic lack of understanding of any language other than English and primitively Spanish and French (although native Spanish and French speakers speak at a rate that makes it hard for me to even begin to process).
To answer the question: “Did the former Soviet Union have any music that we in the West would enjoy?” Particularly in the West’s now labeled “Classic Rock” era. Also, of interest would be of any musical genres or unique blends of genres that would be of interest.

The result in the discovery of all sorts of interesting music from around the world and from now and yesteryear singing in not my native tongue. Some of it quirky. Some of it weird and some of it just fun to listen to.
